Our Background

Ben Kuharik, EP-C, B.S., PTA, Owner

Ben (born 1995) is an Exercise Physiologist who graduated from Kent State in 2018 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science and a minor in Business.  On top of that he graduated Bryant&Stratton College Magna Cum Laude in 2022 to receive his PTA License.  He has trained MMA since he was 14, losing 70lbs in the process and receiving a Black Belt in Striking.  Due to his time spent training MMA from a young age, he has incurred a multitude of past injuries that led him to want to help others recover from theirs and prevent any unnecessary damage while on their journey.  As a personal trainer and exercise specialist, he has found success working with clients on weight loss, hypertrophy, and joint strength.  As a striking coach, he has experience with athletes improving strength and conditioning as well as preparation for kickboxing/MMA fights.  On top of this, he works with patients in clinical settings rehabbing from various injuries, surgeries, and conditions.

Ben spends much of his time studying all aspects of the field including nutrition, fitness, and newly published research. Other hobbies include playing drums, training MMA, working out, and spending time with friends/family.

What is an Ultra-Marathon you ask???  It is any race with a distance longer than a traditional Marathon which is 26.2miles. They can be 50-mile races, 100-mile races and/or go as far as you can in 24-hour races!

She has run races all over the world including  when she set the American record in Sept. 2012 by running 149.38 at the 24-Hour World Championship in Poland, earning herself the silver medal, and leading the women's team to gold. She was the 2003 USA Track and Field Ultrarunner of the Year and later the 2011 USA Track and Field Masters Ultrarunner of the Year. After winning three national titles in three consecutive months that year.

Connie began running in elementary school in the DC area. Her family then moved to Columbus, Ohio where she competed on her high school's first girls’ cross-country team. She also ran on their track and field's 4x800 relay team, who finished runners up at the Class AA State of Ohio finals. She then attended the University of Massachusetts and majored in Sports Management, where she was a member of the university's rowing team.[4] While at the University of Massachusetts, Connie ran her first marathon at the age of 17, finishing in 4:11.

Today, Connie is a single mother of two girls and continues to compete as well as work to inspire others on reaching their goals!
